Not a core Zope bug, at best a Wiki bug.

...and, oddly, pretty much since yesterday morning when I submitted the last followup here, I have not been receiving any wiki updates at all even for the pages I am subscribed to. I made multiple changes to ObjectHub and children and am still subscribed but did not get any update messages.

More info on this issue: last night I edited http://dev.zope.org/Wikis/DevSite/Proposals/ObjectHub (a page to which I am subscribed) and added a number of pages as children. This morning I once again was receiving spurious wiki notifications: in this case, notifications of http://www.zope.org/Wikis/zope-xml/APIs and http://www.zope.org/Members/ajung/TextIndexNG/wiki/InstallationInstructions , neither of which are pages I have even looked at, let alone subscribed to. It seems that adding children pages to a page to which you are already subscribed might be the event that starts this behavior?

No, I had not subscribed to any of those pages. I had only subscribed to ExplicitObjectReferences and ObjectHub. I didn't even subscribe to the children of ObjectHub (which comprise some of the list), since the subscription page said that I would receive notices of changes both to the parent and its children.

Probably not pertinent, but I think I added some children to the ObjectHub page (clicking on the '?' links) after I subscribed to it...

Also probably not pertinent, but I added my own wiki to my members section a week or two ago for some organized brainstorming. Didn't subscribe to it, though. ;)

Thanks, Ken.

The subscriptions catalog had several subscriptions registered for 'poster' which went away when i asked it to update itself. Here's a list of the ones that went away:

http://www.zope.org//Wikis/DevSite/Proposals/EventChannel
http://www.zope.org//Members/jeremy/CurrentAndFutureProjects/compiler.compile
http://www.zope.org//Members/jeremy/CurrentAndFutureProjects/pystone
http://www.zope.org//Wikis/DevSite/Proposals/ZCatalogPiggyback
http://www.zope.org//Wikis/DevSite/Proposals/PluginIndex
http://www.zope.org//Wikis/DevSite/Proposals/SpokeFolder
http://www.zope.org//Wikis/DevSite/Proposals/PluginLink
http://www.zope.org//Wikis/DevSite/Proposals/SpokeMixin
http://www.zope.org//Wikis/DevSite/Proposals/ObjectHubInterface
http://www.zope.org//Members/jeremy/CurrentAndFutureProjects/test.test_htmlparser
http://www.zope.org//Wikis/zope-edu/Contributors

(You can see the list of the two remaining ones by going to the subscriptions page while logged in and clicking on the link towards the bottom of the page. That list includes only specific-page subscriptions, not whole-wiki ones.)

At this point i don't have a lead on the reason the catalog had the invalid subscriptions. For the sake of more info, is it likely that you had at some point subscribed to those pages? (It's possible the unsubscription process is not properly updating the catalog.)

While I am only subscribed to a couple of wikis in the fishbowl, I have been receiving emails from all kinds of wikis, evn those not a part of the fishbowl. In particular, I received eight emails today alone from a wiki of Jeremy Hylton's apparently: http://www.zope.org/Members/jeremy/CurrentAndFutureProjects

Earlier days have found random wiki emails in my box as well, but this is the first time I have reported the issue. I also deleted the previous emails, but I saved all eight of today's emails should anyone like to see them. I actually don't think they have any particularly interesting clues except that they close with "(You are among 2 notification recipients.)" and the associated subscribe pages do not list any recipients at all.

Apologies if I am following the wrong prorocol for this issue.
