Or, an exception is raised when an ambigous date format is used.
A means should have be provided for users of DateTime to be explicit about what interpretation they want for an ambiguous date.
Although, it is too late for DateTime now, as people will be using it implicitly.

That's fine. So I make this ticket a feature request and work
on a proposal for solution to make DateTime more suitable
for Europeans.

This is not a bug, don't try and fix it!
Ambiguous dats like that have to be interpreted either as US dates or European dates. Currently, it is interpreted as a US date. Changin this to a European interpretation will break applications that expect the first!

DateTime("5.12.2002") is interpreted as May-12-2002
instead of December-12-2002.
