[Zope-Perl] perl scripts calling zsql methods

Hi,

We're tearing our hair out trying to call a zsql method
with an explicit argument from a perl script.  Can this be
done and can someone please point us to a working example?

Similar calls work fine from python and dtml scripts.

We are using:
	Zope 2.4.2
	zoperl 1.0 beta 5

running on a dec-alpha unix v5.1 platform.
