Hi Ben,

just saw the same error but I guess this is because my perl is built 
multi-threaded and pyperl has some problems with that.

The main problem is that pyperl is essentially unmaintained for 5+ years now and 
nobody is actively developing this. I guess several internals and assumptions 
changed in the meantime which require some ammount of coding.
