Are you sure XML-kit is the product you want ? From what i remember it is for proxying external xml-files and other specific tasks, not a generic handler for XML-in-Zope. The tutorial to which you are referring is much older than XML-kit , and is not referring to any of the components there. IIRC "ParsedXML" has replaced the "XML-Document" from that 1999-tutorial. External Method?! IOW, request-per-run?.. 8-| This will be VERY slow and mostly unusable. OTOH, running Zope on Jython instead on CPython is impossible because of threads. Then you can do only one efficient thing: is to serve your Jython/Java stuff somewhere and communicate with Zope only per XML-RPC or SOAP or simple GET (if your requests are less than 4K). -- Regards, Bogdan "Besides, I think [Slackware] sounds better than 'Microsoft,' don't you?" Nope. This all is about Tomcat Java Server Pages (what is quite ugly, by the way). Who really need this mix on Zope? :| If you need Java, then you need pure Java. If you need Zope/Python stuff PLUS some Java libraries, you need some framework to serve it somewhere. But if we talking about Java _libraries_ to connect to the Zope, therefore this is completely other story, what could be done probably only in the way I already described before. -- Regards, Bogdan The best way to convince another is to state your case moderately and accurately. -- Benjamin Franklin From mik at alambitco.com Wed May 28 11:54:32 2003 From: mik at alambitco.com (Michele Ruberl) Date: Sun Aug 10 16:54:53 2008 Subject: [Zope-xml] questions about xml-rpc Message-ID: <00de01c32531$6f375bb0$6d535651@milk> Hello, I'm trying to implement a object repository based on Zope. I would be able to automatize this operation... Solution(the idea): (part 1) - obtain .xls catalogs from reseller's web sites; (part 2) - use xlhtm(http://chicago.sourceforge.net/xlhtml/) to convert them in files .xml; (part 3) - ->*extract the values in xml file*<- and put them in a database (part 4) - build the search interface to query the database obtaining the best prices. Well, part 1 is not so a big problem, ..part 2(that has been made this morning and works fine :) and part 4 even. Now the question is: how to accomplish the task required in part 3? I want specify that the format of xml file is something like: D-LINK DUB-H4 25.95 DUB-H4 24 5% and so on..(col0 is the name of product, col1 is the price, col2 the sku, col3 the warranty and col5 the discount) Could you please suggest something to solve(or at least to clarify) the right way to follow?
