(116) unable to connect, fd=4 The pcgi log would say: Sun Jul 16 20:04:25 2000 pcgi-wrapper: Error receiving stdout (116) unable to connect, fd=4 After much debugging I found that if you looked at the PCGIPublisher::handler method in pcgi/pcgi_publisher.py, it would do a conn.send(stdout) and if you looked at the return value you would find that it only would send 8192 bytes no matter how long the stdout string was. This is due to some sysctl settings: net.local.stream.recvspace and net.local.stream.sendspace. They are set to 8192. I adjusted mine to 65536 using the following two commands: sysctl -w net.local.stream.recvspace=65536 sysctl -w net.local.stream.sendspace=65536 Now it seems to be working well. I'm not sure whose bug this is. I think it is probably a problem with FreeBSD. I'll upgrade to 4.0-STABLE soon and see if is still a problem. If this is not the problem you are having, you really need to elaborate more on what you mean by 'maimed' output.

boolean property bug

Probably I found a bug in handling boolean properties in Zope 2.2.0. I can only set them "on", and then can't turn "off". I can have default value "off" (in ZClass definition), but after first switch to "true", it can't be changed. It only refers to handling properties via Zope's management screens. API functions manage_changeProperty, manage_editProperty work fine, so maybe it's an error in generated HTML forms, or in processing of these forms. ololo

If you're doing little or nothing in the way of Python development in base classes (e.g. you're doing all of your development in the instance or in ZClasses), you may want to take a look at ZEO (http://www.zope.org/Products/ZEO). Setting up the ZEO "storage server" overseas and using a local Zope client as a sort of object cache might make the situation bearable and solve your synchronization problem. ZEO caches objects until they're invalidated by the storage server, so the object is read once and can be accessed many times until invalidated without needing to cross the wire to the storage server. If you are doing development on Python-based Products, you can still do this, but it's complicated badly by need to be very careful that the two installations keep "shared" Python modules (ala Product files) synchronized as well, as if they get out of sync, one of the two of you is going to end up with a broken Zope incessantly. It's not an ideal setup. 2.2.0, LoginManager and ZPatterns

Hmm..., so I've decided to upgrade to Zope 2.2.0. Most of my site works fine :) I used GUF lately, now I want to use LoginManager, but I can't get it working. From a Folder to a Product

Hi! I'm pretty satisfied with a group of reports I have done in Zope, and want to put a copy of it in every customer's folder I have in the Zope Server. Are there a document/tutorial I can use as a guide or tutorial to do this? If someone wants to point some general guidelines, the folder contains only the dtml docs/methods and SQL connection/SQL Queries used to do the report, and the only thing that changes from one to another customer is the SQL connection (every different customer have his own database). Even the security properties are the same. Permissions question.

Hello, I am having a permissions problem, and am hoping someone on the list will see the error in my ways. I have a ZClass, called a FooManager, that inherits from ObjectManager. It is responsible for creating (and managing) Foo objects. In the FooManager ZClass, I created a DTMLMethod called 'addFoo', and a form called 'fooForm'. Following the "How to Create ZClass Instances Programmatically" How-To, I modified my 'Foo_add' constructor to avoid redirecting if the request contains a noRedir parameter. In my 'addFoo' method, I have: <dtml-with "manage_addProduct['FooProduct']"> <dtml-call "Foo_add(_.None, _, noRedir=1)"> </dtml-with> and I set it's Proxy role to 'Manager'. My form, obviously, calls 'addFoo' with: <form action="addFoo" method="..."> When I submit the form, I get: Unauthorized. You are not authorized to access FooObject. 'FooObject' is the name of my ZClass. The traceback is: ... I thought the Proxy role in the ZClass's 'addFoo' method would do the trick, but it did not. Sorry if I haven't explained this well. newbie question: how do I adjust field width?

Hi, I'm making an input form. When I try to change the form's input field width, it automagically displays 30 char for each field. Is there any way to adjust the width?
