I did copy an existing trunk:

I used the following command while creating the branch:

svn cp svn+ssh://svn.zope.org/repos/main/zc.dict/trunk svn+ssh:// 
svn.zope.org/repos/main/zc.dict/branches/satchit-ordered-dict
