DTrace at least used to be a Sun Solaris-only story. I don't have access 
to a Solaris box and I think many people don't. :) I think there's been 
some work done to make this work on Linux, but I don't know how mature 
it is:

Besides DTrace, here are various profiling tools available for Python 
and Zope. Unfortunately I'm more familiar with profiling Zope 2 
applications than I am profiling in a pure Zope 3 environment. Perhaps 
someone can do some research into what's available and write a short 
tutorial?
