It's my pleasure to announce grokcore.component 1.0!

This package includes the base classes, grokkers and directives for the
most basic component types of the Zope Component Architecture (adapters,
multi-adapters, global utilities). It allows you to use the grokking
mechanism (for these types of components) outside of Grok (e.g. in Zope
3, Zope 2 or any other zope.component-based application) rather than
configuring them through ZCML or through explicit provide* calls in
Python (which make code pretty much untestable).

More information is available on

On a related note, the Grok trunk has been modified to depend on
grokcore.component. Much thanks to Brandon Craig Rhodes and his sprint
team at PyCON 08 for doing most of the work! Note that this change is
completely transparent for applications built on Grok.
