I think the "Documentation" link on the home page is enough.

However, I agree the "Official" documentation did not stand out.

Reason why I reworked the documentation page to add the yellow box.

PS for the web team :
The dochome view template was already customized in 
portal_view_customizations.
I copied it over to portal_skins/custom so that it can be reset if what 
I did does not feel appropriate.
