Here's yet another attempt at motivating versions (thanks to SteveA
over dinner).

Current ZODB Versions don't do what you want.  They are somewhat close
to a desirable feature, but that feature would be implemented
differently if it were implemented from scratch today.  The design of
such a new feature should not be restricted by the existing
implementation of ZODB Versions.  So the fact that there *is* a need
for such a feature shouldn't stop us from ripping out ZODB Versions.
