Have you checked your Solaris tcp_keepalive_interval?  The default of
7200000 (2 hrs) in Solaris 2.x might likely be an issue here.  A while back,
I found some docs with more info on the various timers that Solaris uses
here: http://www.sean.de/Solaris/tune.html#common

Both Zope and ZEO run on (different) Solaris boxes separated by a
(hardware) firewall without NAT/masquerading.
