[ZODB-Dev] ZODB 3.8.1b8 tests do not run on OSX

When I try to run the tests for ZODB 3.8.1b8 using python2.4 on OSX 10.4 
nothing happens:

[snowflake;..mp/wichert/3.8.1b8]-118> bin/test

and then nothing. If I hit ctrl-c I get this backtrace:
