No, not aka. Membership is the product that provides the base systems necessary for building further. Such as
PortalMembership, and CommunityMembership, etc. It aims at separating out the 'policies' of user login needs. See the
wiki for it for further details.

PortalMembership is a 'sub-product' to Membership.
