[Zope-PTK] Translation of PTK

So, is anyone working on it? (Keeping presentation separate from the
object model.)

It's an interesting problem because it seems that much of the benefits
of Zope (and object-orientation) is also its weakness: tight coupling
between methods (which now mean templates / design) and their data
(content).

In the future we hope to keep all content as XML, and presentation in
templates (written in XSLT or DTML or XMLC) that are not stored among
the content (since we don't want to manage them exactly the same way as
the content). We want to be able to easily drop in a new set of
templates without touching the content.

We're thinking about using the Translator product to support multiple
languages for now. Not sure how well it'll work with the PTK. Any
experiences?

Bye,

Brian veto'd it, declaring it too ambitious. He's basically waiting for
Zope to better figure out how to keep presentation separate from the
object
model.
