A while ago, someone mentioned the new Microsoft Sharepoint Portal Server as
a potential competitor for CMF.

Just spotted this review (via zopezen.org) -

There's a LOT of similarities! AFAICT the main difference seems to be that
SharePoint is more of a document library aimed at intranets (convert Kaivo's
Document Management product to CMF and make it more Windows-compatible to
counteract that?)

The bits about their "Category Assistant" are interesting - Categories are
their equivalent of subjects/metadata. Being Microsoft, they have a
wizard-thing that tries to automatically categorise documents you add by
looking at the content. One of the features that would be do-able in CMF is
that you can set a list of "trigger-words" to tell it which category to
give - e.g. if a document contains the words "monopoly", "abuse" and
"power", give it the category "Microsoft" ;-)

Cheers, Jon
