Hi Valerie,

You have to explicitely enable discussion on a type in new CMF to have
the possibility to reply. Go into the managment screen under your portal
and look for "portal_types". In there You will find the different type
names. Go for example to "News Item". You will get the management screen
for properties. There you find an item "Allow Discussion?". Enable this
item.
After that you should be able to reply to a newsitem.
