I've just added two tools to CMFStaging: Workflow With Repository Tool, 
which replaces the CMFCore WorkflowTool and puts the workflow instances 
in a repository, and Workflow Repository, where the workflow instances 
are actually stored.  When you have some time, try them out, and ask 
questions if you get stuck.
