Just to give some perspective... after Plone + the Collective moved to  
svn, the barrier to entry for a lot of would-be contributors (including  
me) was radically reduced. Making a branch in cvs seemed like so much work  
it actually stopped me doing some fixes; in svn, it's a piece of cake. :)
