[Zope-DB] Zope, MySQL, and Windows

I have a modest application running on Zope using Gadfly as the database. I
would like to start using MySQL (I have used MySQL with Python for some time
now) on my Windows 98 box, but have noticed that it is recommended that I
recompile MySQL to enable transactions. What does that mean (what is
"transactional" in MySQL?), and are there step-by-step instructions as to
how to do it? I freely admit being a newbie at this part of the game, so
please direct flames/RTFM's to /dev/null.

I am getting a Linux box set up and am hoping this type of thing is easier
there (as I have been promised).
