An "Exception" instance, more precisely, a "Psycopg" exception.

No, as PostgreSQL does not report error numbers.

you can convert it into a string (with the built in function
"str") and get something quite readable.

You must import them.

Read the "README" of Python Scripts. It tells you how
to allow import.
