The part this forgets is that in this kind of architecture (documents
composed of other documents) you have to decide WHAT you want the last
modified time of :-)  

Is this the template you want, or a component of the template?  What
would be really nice is to have a variable that had the computed "last
modified" based on which object had the most recenty time... but you'd
need the ability to exclude things like header images that aren't really
relevent to this calculation.
