I have used this approach. It was particularly useful for a site that
needed to be visible as two separate URLs.

ie: <a href="&dtml-BASE1;/relativefolder">Blah</a> would get rendered as

<a href="http://www.somesite.com/relativefolder">Blah</a> or
<a href="http://www.someothersite.com/relativefolder">Blah</a> depending
on which URL had been accessed.
