[Zope] variables part of REQUEST cached anywhere ? problem accessing site

Our users were having problems accessing our site today. On examining the login
dtml-method I noticed the values  for loginid and password were the same each
time no matter what the user typed in the form. I changed the variable names
and everything was back to normal again.
Any ideas why these variable values were the same across multiple browser
sessions
