It's not a 'fault', per se.  This is due to how Konqueror handles passwords.

I have been wanting to use Konq for my Zope work for some time, but have been 
held back by this 'issue'.

Konq is actually working by the rules, so far as the RFC is concerned.  It 
asks you for a username/password when it gets an auth error response from the 
server.  Prior to Konq from KDE 2.1beta, it wouldn't remember this password, 
and so would prompt you for EVERY page.

However, Konqueror will not continue to present this login information to the 
server unless prompted, and so in the management screen, Zope fills the right 
pane with a request from an anonymous user, and thus 'views that page', not 
the management screen.

Unfortunately, I have yet to find a usable browser for Linux that is better 
than Netscape.  But Konq is showing the most promise.

Saying that, I have not tried Opera in some time... perhaps they've addresses 
some of THEIR issuse... it could be worth a try...  http://www.opera.com
