I think that what is being referred to here is simplicity of creating your
own templates, rather than simplicity of setting up the system itself.

I don't think that most people want a Squishdot site that looks like either
of the themes or just the plain site.

Perhaps another option would be if some people were to design different
themes for Squishdot and then submit them for inclusion, so others can
benefit from these efforts - we could even have a competition to see who can
design the best template?
