you can use MetaPublisher in several ways:

- to generate a variety of templates including rdf/rss channels
via the interface maker

- rapidly build applications including simple content
management or info containers

- create a new db by selecting your db connection from
the "Storage Type" dropdown list

- make an existing db editable via the web by selecting
the checkbox marked:

"Check here to hook the MetaPublisher to an existing table
and enter the table name:"

we originally created MP to make creating simple Zope Web
Apps easy for non programmers. if for example you select the
DB option instead of OFS MP takes care of not just DTML,
HTML, but also the SQL generation.

based on feedback from many MP users a lot of the people using
MP are experienced Zope developers interested in building
prototypes. but as i stated in the announcement the plugability
of "Field Types" and "Presets" are other really cool features
which if your interested in MP's features you'll have to discover
yourself.

we do have some documentation (15 pages) which you'll find
on at the MP homepage:

http://www.beehive.de/zope/freeware/metapublisher.html

(the docs are currently a little out-of-date)

hope that answers some of your questions,

regards,

mark
