   More recent Python has .startswith:

<dtml-if "REQUEST.PATH_TRANSLATED.startswith('/folder1/subfolder1')">

   (but I am not sure if REQUEST.PATH_TRANSLATED is a string; if not -
convert it to a string: _.str(REQUEST.PATH_TRANSLATED))
