[Zope] Locale support not working

I have a running Zope 2.4.2 instance and for a couple of months a Zope
2.5.0 instance on the same server (Linux RH).

I've noticed that locale support doesn't work properly on the "old"
instance since (apparently) I installed the new one, and I'm afraid
something is wrong in my start script. It looks like:

#! /bin/sh
reldir=`dirname $0`
INST_HOME=`cd $reldir; pwd`
export INST_HOME
STUPID_LOG_FILE=$INST_HOME/var/stupid_log_file.log
export STUPID_LOG_FILE
exec /usr/zope/2.4.2/bin/python \
      $INST_HOME/z2.py \
       "$@" -L ""

The new script is exactly the same replacing the 2.4.2 with 2.5.0

So:

1- The locale support (mainly STX with non-ASCII chars) in the 2.5.0 works
very well.
2- The locale support in the 2.4.2 doesn't work.

What can I be doing wrong?

Thanks for any help!

Gari
