[Zope] Zope dies after a few seconds

I have a related problem. The Zope service would hang (I would get the
"Starting..." message but nothing more) and then one fine day I find the
service isn't listed anymore in my list of services. Any way I can fix this?
I'm a user, not much of a programmer.

Actually, the main problem was that I did not remove the
old PID file that I backed up.  AFter removing Z2.pid and
pcgi.pid I was able to start Zope again.
