For example code generating circular references of objects:

object A has reference to object B
object B has reference to object C

Up to now, if object A is deleted, object B could be deleted as well
as there are no more references to B. But now imagine that some code
leads to:

object C creates reference to object B

Now, when A is deleted, there are still references to B and references
to C, so neither of them can safely be deleted by a garbage collector
relying on reference counts. And thats what Python uses (at least the
last time I looked).
