I'm not really the right person to ask about the schedule
:-).  Luckily, Jim Fulton has posted a Zope 2.8 schedule.
 ZODB 3.3 will be released in conjunction with Zope 2.8.

The schedule says beta in March.  I think that's realistic
technically.
