There is an environment variable that allows you to specify
additional folders containing Products.
It is a bit difficult to use.
If you are lucky, you find it documented in "doc/environment.txt" (or
similar); if not, look at "App/FindHomes.py"; there the product
detection magic is set up.


With Zope 2.7, it will become very easy...
