[Zope] Images don't get cached in IE, in the presence of Apache's mod_gzip

I stumbled with a problem regarding the caching of images in Internet
Explorer 6.
They just don't get cached when served through Apache if mod_gzip is on, in
despite of the excluding rules for that module. This problem also involves
Zope, as it happen even though you had set cache properties via Zope's http
accelerator manager.

Has anyone else had this same problem?. How did you deal with it? According
to this information
http://www.nelson.monkey.org/~nelson/weblog?q=mod_gzip
the problem is due to a bug in IE triggered by mod_gzip.

As IE is the most used browser this can be taken as a bandwidth leak (even
if we choose not to use mod.gzip) Any ideas?
