Sure, as service times vary highly...

My numbers should just give you a feeling, how fast you
can get. It is highly unlikely that
you can achieve more than 80 to 160 requests per second
given your machine. Adding the service times for
the individual requests together will give
you an upper bound on the number of transactions.

You will only get more, when you do either:

  *  serve static content either from (external) caches or
     directly from Apache

  *  increase CPU speed

  *  increase number of CPU's and (accordingly) Zope processes

Of course, you can combine these various approaches.
