point taken.  I need to spend some time working through Steve Spicklemire's
idea first, now, though.

nope.  It does sound like, in this case, a centralized schema
folder/rack/etc. of some sort would be ideal: I think you mentioned in
another message that's the direction you were going anyway.  Do the
document's need to relate to one another?
