I see now that there was a delay in my receiving some of your other
responses that addressed this issue. If I had gotten those and read them I
wouldn't have wasted your time with this proposal. (Which is a weak excuse
in any case since I should have been able to figure this all out on my own
just by looking at your proposed code.) I think I understand your solution
now. Sorry about all this.
