Actually, Yoix just appears to be aping Java's amusingly named <wink>
SimpleTimeZone class:

Yoix added just a few gimmicks, and exposed an internal implementation
detail of the Java class (endmode). The POSIX defn of the TZ envar is
almost as complicated now!
