Fair enough. Is there nothing other than a BTree bucket that could be used?

Yes, but this feature and ZCatalog's metadata provide the same functionality ;-)

This has traditionally been done by saying "write a script which returns o.x + ' 
' + o.y". Is this pattern being abandoned? I hope so...
