I was going to reply and say the same thing.  Placeful means that the 
object has a context (the context is its "place").  Current Zope 2 
conventions rarely separate placefulness and persistence, but I think 
Zope 3 will separate them often.

Gary was expressing something worth noting, though: placeful *services* 
have effects that apply only to the context in which they reside.  Maybe 
it would be useful to include "placeful service" as a glossary term.
