"Configuration" :).  If you look at the July Transwarp archive, it turns
out that the subject headings make the relevant messages really obvious.

You can't modify the meta directives that a package uses during
its own configuration, no.  But you *can* modify them after it
has set itself up (even without my changes to meta.py).  This is
different from the way directive overrides work.  I don't see
how it would be useful to modify directive setup unless those
directives were going to get used outside the package (from code
*using* the package), so this seems plausible to me.
