Not stupid at all! After I posted my problem, I continued to mull over the
possible reasons why I alone should be seeing the failures. That got me to
thinking along the lines of what my customers always fail to tell me when
they report a problem. Like 'Oh, I was running 3 sessions at the same time,
but only the one crashed.'

So, I slapped my forehead and thought 'What about that Zope 2.6.2 services
running under XP? Could it be creating a conflict?' And that led to another
thought 'And why does Zone Alarm keep asking if I want to allow python to be
a server?'

I rebooted, eliminated all the python services, suspended the firewall...and
still see the same connect failures.

All this happened last night and I didn't get around to posting these
additional facts til now. I haven't given up, but it's fairly frustrating
starting a new project this way.

Thanks,
Dave
