I am not a CSS expert but I think this would not help with current 
'from-Plone' stylesheet.

Agreed

but we still need to solve the problems in case of deeply nested identifiers ie

/++etc++Services/Packages/default/ErrorReportingService-1 which are not 
wrappable.

In any case, working on the overall ergonomy of each screen will diminish 
the problem.
