I still think PAU is Ok.

The translation of PAU in portuguese is:
bar, stick, tent-peg, wood

See
http://www.ectaco.co.uk/online/diction.php3?lang=8&refid=3&rfr_id=2660596&rq
t_id=1726291&q1=1&word=pau&direction=2&x=41&y=14

We often will find another meaning in other languages.
But we are useing this word in a Zope short name context.

I don't like plugauth because we have a IAuthenticationPlugin interface
this makes me often confusing about plug-auth or auth-plug...

What do you like to read in the future:
"Add two authplug in the plugauth ..."
or
"Add two authplugins in the plugauth ..."

I like it more like:
"Add two plugins in the PAU .."
