[Zope-ZEO] ZEO/ZODB and SQL/ODBC storage manager?

Hello David.  I'll tip our hand and tell you that an announcment about
an OracleStorage is imminent.

Chris is right, the potential for a generic backend is nill.  SQL is a
great standard, available in different flavors for every database.  Even
things like dates are inconsistent.  Since the needs of a storage are
pretty intense, we'll be doing per-database storages.
