[ZODB-Dev] ZEO on NT upgrade hints?

I just tried to upgrade ZEO from 0.4 to 1.0b3, and ran into a few problems.
First, it's clear that this version of ZEO wants v2.3.2 of Zope available
(I'm using 2.3.0), because I got many "cannot import up-to-date cPickle"
errors until I tried it with 2.3.2. Now, after upgrading the ZEO server on
NT4/SP6 to Zope 2.3.2 and ZEO 1.0b3, all the batch file to start ZEO does is
die quietly. I'm running the ZEO server with a single line batch file
(which used to work fine) that reads

D:\Zope\bin\python D:\Zope\lib\python\ZEO\start.py -p 8800

I have a plain vanilla ZODB FileStorage living at var/Data.fs. There is no
Zope process running on the ZEO server, just ZEO. Running the above batch
file now returns to the command prompt (which it shouldn't) without any
errors, but without ZEO running, either (no python processes in Task
Manager). I'm really not clear on how to proceed from here. I did note
that the new start.py file corrected two errors related to running on NT, so
I used it unaltered (I had to use an amateurish hack on the one in v0.4 to
make it work).
