[ZODB-Dev] Zope & ZODB Getting Started Syntax

When using an external method under Zope, what is the correct syntax for initializing a data structure and adding and deleting items later on.  I've followed the "employee" example from one of the HOWTOs but I don't see the employee.fs unless I running from the shell.  When Zope runs the routines I get and employee.lock file in the Win2k system directory.  Where can I find some examples of using ZODB under Zope rather than the standalone ZODB?
