Yes, but it's not necessarily obvious where to look for it; PKG-INFO has the 
advantage of being in the distribution root.

None of those are right.  I've been calling the pieces that go into a 
zpkg-generated distribution "components".  If you're into Zope 3, they become 
"packaging components" to disambiguate with the things the component 
architecture deals with.
