This discussion has become pointless. You are repeating yourself, and
I'm repeating myself and we're not going to agree. I think the reason
is that we desire different policies for component lookup. That's OK.
neither of us is necessarily right or wrong. I suspect that we may
have to pick a model where the context for looking things up is always
specified, so that there is no default lookup.
In discussing parentgeddon with some folks here, I realize that I
need to do some thinking about some more generalized models of
acquisition. (Component lookup, as we've been discussing it, is,
of course, a form of acquisition.) Acquisition is a powerful idea,
but people are applying it in a number of different ways that don't
necessarily correspond to "containment" (whatever that is ;).
