I second the need for such a "best practices" guide.  My primary concern is learning to do things in Zope 2 "the right way", i.e. the way that will smooth my path when it comes time to use Zope 3.

I feel a good job was done to persuade people to use ZPT over DTML.  Whatever Zope 2 techniques that will be especially useful in moving towards Zope 3 should be presented as such as early as possible.  This will prevent Zope users from "barking up the wrong tree" as they learn how to extend Zope.
